Sims 3 Magazine Empty Sims 3 Magazine

Post  CraigyBoy2 Sun May 13, 2012 10:20 am

Hi Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone was intrested in starting up a Sims 3 based magazine on Issu or something! If you would like to come on board with this, would like a job, would just read it or would even like to become staff and help me with it then please tell me below! I need answers quickly so please read this and reply back.

Also, is there an easy program to put together the magazine? As I do not know one! Is it power point? Or something else? If I can't get this, if it costs alot of money, etc and you have this program would you put it all together?

What would you post and publish it on? Issu? Or some other online website?

I think thats all! Losts of jobs would be open and I am looking for potential readers aswell!

Thank You!

I'd offer to help, but I'm busy putting my magazine together lol.
Issuu is a great site - that's where mine gets uploaded.
What kind of magazine are you looking to start? That will help generate some ideas for a name.
I use microsoft word and paint and lots of photo manipulation programs to put my pages together.
With Issuu, you can only upload one file, so you have to make the whole magazine and save it in one file, a document file (that's why I use word). Whatever you have on the first page will show up as the cover. Like I said, you can only upload one file (as far as I know) so the whole issue has to be in one file to upload once, if that makes sense.
Take a look on issuu for examples and ideas of other sim magazines.

Mine is the Monthly Plumbob - you can click the button on the right hand side in the side bar under Affiliates (right at the top) and that will bring you to our first issue, so you can get an idea of what we did.

I certainly recommend issuu for those who are new at magazines. It's a very easy process - all you do is upload it. Creating the actual magazine is where all the work is.

Let me know if this helps and if you have any other questions. I'll be here for a while Smile

Try asking around on the sis3 forums (www.thesims3.com)
In the creative corner, there are a lot of creative people making magazines and such, maybe you can post something there and one of them can help you.
Get yourself organized first, though. No one will want to help if you don't know what you're doing. Figure out what you want your magazine to focus on and what kind of jobs others can have to help (writers, page designers, etc). Advertise these jobs for players to apply for and advertise the focus of your magazine. Make sure it's clear what you want to do and what you need help with, and you should get some answers in no time Smile

If you want any advertising for positions or anything to do with the magazine, please just ask and I shall advertise them on the Adverts section like Sim University. Also, when your magazine is published I'll add an advert icon on the side! Very Happy
