My College is Closing :(

Last week, the students and staff at my college found out very abruptly that our college may be closing. I have one year left, and I may not be able to graduate next year! All because of financial issues.

Really! Oh that's terrible. What will happen then do you get transferred to a different college or do they just stop the course? The recession is so terrible :@

The president of the college had a meeting with the entire campus (students and faculty) so we could ask questions and put some rumors to rest. At the meeting, he said that we have some alliance schools that will accept ALL our credits, no questions asked. That's what he said, at least... whether that will happen or not, I don't know.

My other concern is tuition. I don't remember if he said anything about it (I don't think he did), but my college is pretty cheap for a private school. I don't think there's anything cheaper around. So, if we all do have to transfer, we'll have to be paying more. We're college students, we can't afford higher tuition. It's one thing if we choose to transfer, but we're being forced to transfer if it closes. So, I would think they would match the tuition we're currently paying - that only seems fair to me.

Who knows.


Everyone's trying to raise money to keep it open, but we need at least 500,000$ bu next week... and we haven't even raised 100,000$. So, it doesn't seem likely that it will stay open... We'll just have to wait and see, I guess =\
